Accept Jesus As Christ/Messiah

Monday, September 14, 2020
Imagine a world without evil, like only joy, peace, and good. That is how this world that we are living in was created (Genesis 1-2). But then, after many years of mankind, choosing self-will (doing what they think is best), over God's will (doing what God says is best for everyone), the world became filled and polluted with more and more evil.

Jesus who is the Christ/Messiah came to the world from heaven, as man, to show mankind, that we do not have to choose self-will over God's will, which will lead to living in sin, and that with his help, we can choose God's will over self-will, which btw, is not always comfortable but it will guarantee that good is overcoming all evil and that we are not living in sin. Jesus who is the Christ/Messiah (which means that he is the anointed one from God) came to save us from sins by giving us the gift of righteousness that comes by the grace of God which is free, through our faith in Jesus. We are being saved from sin, the future wrath coming to the world for those who do not believe in Jesus, and we are also being save from eternal condemnation (hell).

If you want a relationship with Jesus Christ it means that you are agreeing to allow Jesus to change you from inside out. What this change looks like, can be found in Galatians 5:19-23. Having a relationship with Jesus Christ will guarantee you eternal/internal peace of heart and mind after he teaches you how to have peace, but having a relationship with Jesus Christ will also guarantee external (Matthew 11:28-30Philippians 4:8-13), but temporary trials and tribulations, while on earth (John 16:33).

Think about it, 90 years on this earth, and then what?

Now you may want to know, what must you do to have a relationship with Christ, Jesus?
  • #1. Confess your faith in Jesus Christ (you are about to confess shortly), and as you are confessing your faith, believe in your heart that Jesus is the Christ, I will explain this further, shortly.
    • The belief that you have in Jesus, believing that he is the Christ (anointed one sent by God), is an active belief, and it goes beyond this confession, meaning, that it will be put into action, as there will be opportunities for you to believe in Jesus and do good, or to reject Jesus, and do evil. Faith in Jesus Christ, will grow the more we put our faith in him.
  • #2.Be born-again
    • Being born-again does not mean being born-again physically. Rather, it means being born-again spiritually (John 3:1-16). When a person is born-again spiritually, they have the opportunity to be like Jesus Christ in character (e.g. righteousness, holiness, unconditional love, and truth etc). You will be born-again as soon as you believe that Jesus is the Christ, and make the confession of your faith, and asked God to baptize you in the name of God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38).

If you believe that Jesus is the Christ/Messiah and if you want to accept Jesus to be your Lord & Savior, you can do so by believing in Jesus, and by saying the following:

"Jesus Christ forgive me for all of my sins. Baptize me, in the name of God the Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, and in the name of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ, I ask that you would come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. I believe that God the Father raised you from the dead, and that you are alive."

At the second that you said what is above, and believed it in your heart, you are a born-again believer. You now belong to Jesus Christ, do not allow anyone to get you to think or believe otherwise (Matthew 28: 19), unless of course, as you get to know Jesus better, you are not bearing righteous fruit (watch S1E10 for greater details). Now, let's go over some common terms that are used in the bible, and Christianity. They are as follows:
  • Lord means: Jesus has authority in your heart & life
  • Savior means: Jesus saves you from sin. Sin that has not been forgiven, leads to eternal separation from God (hell).
  • Jesus is the Christ/Messiah means: Jesus is the Christ/Messiah  is the Christ/Messiah (anointed one; savior) sent by God the Father, who came into the world to save those who believe in him, from their sins.
  • The Kingdom of God: Is a spiritual kingdom located in heaven and on earth, in which Jesus Christ is the King.
  • Justification: Is forgiveness of sins that comes by God's free grace, and our belief in Jesus Christ (S1E10, Romans 5).
  • Sanctification: Means to become separate from the culture of the world, which promotes living in sin. This is done with the help of the word of God (the bible) and the Holy Spirit.
    • Who the Holy Spirit is! You can expect the Holy Spirit to teach you how to follow the truth(the word of God and the Holy Spirit are truth), while living in love. That is one of the Holy Spirit's primary goal for each born-again believer, to help them understand truth, and how to love unconditionally!
    • How God communicates. You can expect God to communicate with as you continue to read the bible. God also communicate to us in our day to day circumstances. Remember, the relationship that you have with Jesus Christ is real, and he desires to hear from you and to speak with you.
Believing in Jesus Christ will help you grow your relationship with Jesus Christ. When you believe, Jesus will lead you to do the following:
  • READ THE BIBLE:  If this is your first time reading the bible, or the if you hadn't read the bible in a long time, I recommend that you read the bible in chronological order. I also recommend that you read the bible starting from from the book of Matthew to the book of Revelation, without skipping chapters/pages. Then when you are done, read the book of Genesis to the book of Revelation. By reading the bible in chronological order, it will help you understand the bible contextually (e.g. the purpose of the word, and who it is applicable to).
    • IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A BIBLE ALREADY, BUY A BIBLE: NKJV Comfort Print Full Color Study Bible. This bible comes with commentary to help you understand the bible better, it also has pictures, and a concordance that defines words used in the bible. Btw, I am not saying that all the commentary in this particular study bible is correct. However, I believe that the basic principles that are very important in Christianity are correct, just not all. Note: I am referencing the commentary, and not the word of God itself. The word of God is accurate. If you cannot afford this bible, or any bible, Family Dollar sell bibles for $1. I started my journey with Christ with a bible that was given to me. I did not get this study bible until almost 3 years in. The Holy Spirit is our helper and he will help us understand the bible, whether it cost $1 or $50.
  • PRAYER (REST & ASK): Do not put pressure on yourself to know what to do, and how to do it. Jesus Christ loves you so much, he is gentle, he is full of patience, and he is with you. Simply ask the Holy Spirit for help, and then rest, believing that he knew that you would ask the question, before you did. Thus, you can be assured in due timing he will answer the question for you. Thus, when I say ask the Holy Spirit for help, I simply mean that you can ask the following questions:
    • "Holy Spirit, please help me know what to do, now that I am a Christian.
    • Holy Spirit, please direct me to a church that you want me to attend.
    • Holy Spirit, who are you?"
Note: Before watching anything that I recommend, I suggest that you pray to God, by asking him for knowledge and wisdom given by the Holy Spirit to know whether or not you should watch what I recommended. Why? Firstly, I am teaching you how to be led by the Holy Spirit (dependency). Secondly, it may be God's will for one person, but not for another. If you have peace in your heart and mind about it, after you prayer, then, watch. Having absolute peace of mind and heart (not intruding thoughts), is one of the ways that God communicates, for greater details, Watch: S1e7 How does God communicate?
